Dendrobium Orchid

Till today there are more than thousand familiar species of Dendrobium. The more ones are being discovered. Being a part of the Orchidaceae family the majority of species is native to Asia and the South Pacific area. The name, of this plant is derived from two Greek words- dendron, meaning, "tree," and bios, meaning "life."

The alternative name of Dendrobium Orchid is the Singapore Orchid. The flower usually is a spray of 10-12 tender blossoms borne on slender stem; it is usually available in daffodil-like shape and creamy white, bright magenta purple, pink, green, red colors.

Earlier Dendrobium orchids were thought to be exotic and outstanding plants. Nowadays they can be much more widely available. They bring into the house charm, glamour and elegance.

The flowers are available any season of the year. If they are cut out they may last for 7-14 days.

Being elegant line flowers they are often used by florist all over the world. Dendrobium Orchid matches modern line arrangements and sympathy arrangements as well.
